General Summary: This position’s primary role is to augment existing IT staff in supporting and maintaining the WAN network, helpdesk and desktop support, Exchange email platforms, domain controllers, Avaya VOIP servers, IBM iSeries servers and all manner of application servers.

Major Responsibilities:
• Perform systems engineering, systems integration, performance tuning and monitoring related tasks (Windows 2003 servers, system services, network connectivity, and desktop operating systems - Windows 2000/2003/XP)
• Provide technical support for network administration to maintain all assigned systems at an acceptable service level
• Perform systems engineering duties
• Provide guidance in local and global systems load balancing techniques
• Perform analysis, design, and planning of network architecture infrastructures
• Provide technical support for network and email migrations for a variety of technical environments
• Configure and install operating system services, and server-based application support services
• Evaluate system/server conflicts to ensure the deployment of application products
• Identify and resolve complex customer problems
• Performs network analysis and capacity planning across multiple network components
• Will participate it designing, installing and troubleshooting Firm-wide subnets, routing strategy and IP schema
• Assists in implementing appropriate network security, adhering to security policy established by management and/or Security Officer
• Provide phone, remote, and onsite desktop and server support / administration.
• Interface directly with users, managers and other administrators and coordinate IT efforts.
• Provide tier 2-3 backup to technical engineering team
• Conduct new client technology reviews
• Performing remote and onsite maintenance on network equipment where required
• Complete in-house infrastructure projects
• Develop and implement backup strategies
• AVAYA VOIP Network administration and maintenance

Specific Job Skills:
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Networking Technologies
• Strong knowledge and experience in Cisco routers and switches; Cisco routing/VLANs a plus.
• Interfacing with IOS, updating firmware, troubleshooting client connectivity.
• Strong knowledge with Active Directory administration
• Proficient in the following areas of network technology, including, but not limited to: Cisco router configuration and management, network and routing protocols DSL, VPN, Server OSs, Active Directory, Exchange, SMTP, SQL, Network Security, Firewalls, LAN and WAN technologies, Backup Systems, and diagnostic tools (sniffers and protocol analyzers)
• Experience with LAN/WAN network infrastructure technologies
• Experience with Exchange Server 2000/2003 administration
• Support experience with LAN equipment including servers, routers, hubs, switches and firewalls
